Tear Galbanum resin is oozed out naturally as a result of insect feeding, stem cutting, or natural scorching. Once extracted, Galbanum resin undergoes rapid oxidation upon exposure to air, resulting in minimal impurities and contributing to its elevated cost.
The gum is subsequently dried and solidified upon contact with air. Its color ranges from white to yellow, and sometimes transitions to orange. The highest quality Galbanum in tear-like resin form exhibits a yellow, transparent interior when broken, which darkens when exposed to air. Tear-like Galbanum maintains its softness over an extended period, although it does gradually harden over time.
Additionally, "Tear-like Galbanum" primarily utilized for industrial purposes rather than perfumery. It consists of yellow, orange, and red tears or droplets. It's somewhat less rigid and brittle compared to frankincense.
